There are two artists who go by the name Dan Smith. 1) Rev. Dan Smith (January 23, 1911 in Alabama - November 16, 1994) sang in church and played harmonica as a child. He didn’t begin his professional career until the early ’60s, when he played behind folk legends Rev. Gary Davis and Pete Seeger.
