Cueshé's members all hail from the city of Cebu, Philippines, where they used to play as a show band. In 2005, they moved to Manila and started to play as a pop-rock band. Their name comes from bananaCUE (bananas cooked with charcoals, a delicacy in the Philippines) and the pronoun "she." They used to practice their music in the bedroom of their current bandleader Mike Manaloto -- it was the band’s makeshift rehearsal studio. After practice, they would have Banana Cue, a cheap but nutritious Filipino street food for snacks, as it was what they could afford as students.
