Kimmo Hakola (born 27 July 1958) is a Finnish Composer. Having studied composition privately with Einojuhani Rautavaara, Kimmo Hakola entered the Sibelius Academy in 1981. At the Sibelius Academy, he also studied with Eero Hämeenniemi and Magnus Lindberg. The dramatic power, instrumental dexterity, carefully polished details and capricious, even humorous idiom of his music appeal to audiences and critics alike.
