"That was one of the things that impressed me when I first heard George Benson," Lawrence explains. "I liked what he was doing on guitar--the melodic sense of it--but what really hit me was that he sounded like he was having fun." The list of other guitarists that have influenced Lawrence's style include Wes Montgomery, Charlie Chrisitan and John Tropea.
