The group was born in 1990 when Andrés Calamaro arrived in Spain. There he teamed up with Argentinean Ariel Rot, who had already played with him in Argentina, and the Spaniard Julian Infante. Rot and Infante had been composers of the youthful group Tequila. The three of them, along with Germán Vilella, - the other Spaniard in the band, - began their tests and small concerts in Madrid. At first they were going to call the band 'Los Locos', but they soon found out that there was already an Asturian group with that name.
