Whirlaway formed in Florida in 1999. Immediately, the quartet was signed by Spy-Fi Records to release their debut EP, A Soundstream Broadcast. Entirely written, recorded and produced by the band, the disc's sonic assault on listeners translated well to record. The first single 'Sunelectric' became a modest college radio hit.
2000 began with the release of the single 'Distance', which whetted fans appetites for the release of the Whirlaway's sophomore effort, Letting Go.
