Ishman Bracey Ishman Bracey
Ishman Bracey (Jan. 9, 1901 - Feb. 12, 1970) was a blues singer and guitarist from Mississippi. He is considered one of the most important early delta blues performers, having been associated with Tommy Johnson, Charlie McCoy and Skip James, among others. Bracey often worked the Jackson, Mississippi area. In his younger days Bracey reportedly led Blind Lemon Jefferson around the delta area. Bracey recorded for Victor in 1928 and for Paramount in 1929 in Grafton, Wisconsin.
