Popol Ace
The Norwegian progressive rock band Popol Ace evolved from the brass-rock band Arman Sumpe Dur Express. The band's members had a long and storied past, dating back to the late fifties. Singer Jahn Teigen was already somewhat well-known in Norway. Originally named Popol Vuh (after the famous Mayan Book Of The Dead), they were forced to change their name so as not to be confused with German composer/keyboardist Florian Fricke's already-established group of the same name.
