Hammond funk band The Rare Groove Orchestra (RGO) was founded in The Hague (The Netherlands) in 2003. Funk, soul and soul jazz are the main ingredients in this hot stew. Heavy doses of drums, deep bass grooves, gritty guitar hooks and grinding Hammond organ spice up the groove. Although the RGO doesn’t focus on the rare groove genre as such, the groove of the band is quite rare. The band has toured extensively and has performed successfully at EuroJazz Mexico, Saint-Paul Soul Jazz - Hammond Funk and Raw Soul festival (France)...
