And the songs -- almost all instrumental -- pull you in unexpected directions. The band combines elements of math rock, post-rock, progressive rock, and even hip-hop using laptops, guitars, synthesizers and live drums. The band draws on influences from Battles, Explosions in the Sky, Animal Collective, Animals as Leaders and Steve Reich.
