Franz Koglmann (b. 1947) is a Viennese composer, trumpeter and flugelhornist. His music is known for its unique conflation of 1. West Coast cool jazz in the vein of Chet Baker, Jimmy Giuffre and Lennie Tristano, along with 2. European classical Romantic composers such as Franz Schubert and 3. specifically fin-de-siècle Viennese composers Alban Berg and Anton Webern. He has also been heavily inspired by work outside of the musical sphere, such as poetry, philosophy, visual arts and film.
