The group was established in year 2002 by members of folkrock group "Nová rieka" and found its strong fans at time of begenning althought there were only their small concerts in Prešov. Change came, when someone had signed them for competition called "Stropkovská hudobná liga". Helenine oči defeated quality rivals without some problems.
The group desingnates their style eskimo-punk. Supporters of folk, punk and even alternative scene appreciate them.
